My name is Dane Piedt ,born and raised in Cape Town , South Africa. Cricket has always been apart of my life. I started playing at the age of 5 with my dad, in the back yard; and with friends.

In 2010, at the age of 20, I received my first professional contract with the previously named Cape Cobras, in South Africa. By 2014, I made my international debut for South Africa in Zimbabwe, since then I have played 10 test matches for my country.

I received my Level 2 Coaching from Cricket South Africa in 2019.

In 2020 my wife and I moved to the USA for further cricket opportunities. In 2021, while living in Maryland, I played my first Minor League Cricket tournament with the DC Hawks.

In 2022 to currently, I joined the Morrisville Raptors Minor League Cricket team in North Carolina. I was drafted and signed to the Washington Freedom for the inaugural Major League Cricket competition.

I have a deep desire for coaching the game of cricket, especially to the next generation. I feel it is very important for me to pass on the knowledge I have gained over the 14 years I have been a professional. Especially, as I am still an active player today.

The best part about coaching for me is , that I don’t only see a growth as a cricketer but also see them growing as individuals too. I love passing on the knowledge I’ve learnt playing the game for so many years , it’s pointless if I keep it to myself , kids are the next generation they deserve all the help they can get
