Coach Trevon Griffith

My name is Trevon Griffith. I grew up in Georgetown, Guyana and attended North Ruimveldt Multilateral secondary school.

After high school I went straight into playing professional sports at 18 but before starting my professional journey I had represented Guyana at the national level for all age group, U15, 17 and 19 . Everything started for me in 2005 when I was selected for Guyana U15 and traveled to Antigua.

In 2009 I was named MVP of the regional U19 tournament that was played in Jamaica where I scored the most runs in the tournament earning a spot to represent the West Indies 19 in the ICC u19 World Cup, New Zealand, 2010.

After returning from the World Cup where I made my list A debut against Leeward island in 2011 and the very next year I was selected for Guyana senior team in 2012 where I made my first class debut.

While playing the game at a high level I’ve developed my coaching skill by gaining experience form top class coaches in the CPL whereby they teach me so many cricketing skills and it helps me as a player and also as a coach.

I currently play in the Minor League representing Morrisville Raptors.

While I still play professionally, my aim is to ensure use of my knowledge to teach the next generation of young cricketers and how to get them to reach that professional level. For someone who still plays, I’m excited to help young kids who aspire to become a professional one day.

My coaching philosophy: is simple, I look to create an environment for individuals to develop their skills, where they are allowed to make mistakes play fearless cricket.

As a coach my responsibility is to develop the players holistically provide them with options for them to think for themselves. I am a big believer in developing cricketers who can think and adapt to the conditions
